Annual Volunteer Hours
Woodledge is a a co-op, run and owned by its members.
Woodledge is broadening the definition of workday which will now be called Volunteer Hours. Woodledge will ask each member to volunteer a minimum of four hours of their time annually to the club. Do a traditional workday, host a social event, run burger night, run the snack shack at burger night, help out with the tennis courts, be Swim Team Manager, Tennis Team Manager, join the board of directors, or take on a specific family task. As an alternative, a member can pay a $300 missed Volunteer Hours fee each year. This is at or well below the missed volunteer hours fee for similar clubs in our area. Volunteer opportunities will equal our total number of members.
Additionally, this is a reminder that if you have a kiddo on the Woodledge Whales Swim Team, your participation is required. You may act as Concessions Chairperson, Swim Team Official, Swim Team Starter, Scorer, Record Keeper. This does not satisfy your annual Volunteer Hours. When you register for Swim you must sign up for three dates and register for specific swim team opportunities to support the Woodledge Whales!
All volunteer opportunities except for participating in a traditional workday and doing a family task also satisfy the 5 year social requirement.
Vested Membership begins after completing 20 consecutive years of paying annual dues. This means that beginning with the 21st year and thereafter, vested members are exempt from annual dues and volunteer hours.
There is a limited amount of volunteer opportunities per category and type of work, they equal our total membership. The opportunities are based on the needs of the club in a given calendar year.
